For those of you who missed the poetry this morning, it had nothing to do with the government shutdown, but rather a special day for my pup. 

Let me introduce you to Champion Nubia’s Take Your Breath Away, aka Marvel, who turns out to be more than our beloved family pet, but also a pretty accomplished show dog. Today was the 2025 edition of the Morris and Essex Kennel Club’s quinquennial dog show with over 4500 dogs in attendance. In the Doberman Pinscher breed class, Marvel was Best of Opposite Sex, essentially second place to a beautiful female named Penny, who happens to be the number one dog in the nation. We are quite proud.
